Repairing Makes A Day

BOSE CompanionⓇ2 Series III Computer Speakers Recently, the sound volume from the speakers become unstable. After turning the knob to a 9 o'clock position, the volume was stable for a while (checked with white noise) and started to go high or low. Usually went low when preset lower than 9 and when higher for higher preset. Tried to open the speaker and fix it at first, by I couldn't find any screw from the housing, and it seems to be tightly assembled. I checked the website and the repairing quotation is not so favorable. So I decided to fix it myself with a backup plan to buy a secondhand set. After checking cables and signal sources, I am sure that the cause is the knob for volume control.
